We are Wax.

Wax Studios is an independent production company based in Halle (Saale), Germany, specializing in adult animation. Founded by Alfonso Maestro and Tillmann Orion Brehmer in 2026, we also develop, produce and finance ambitious live-action projects and international co-productions.

Our creative partnership began in 2015 with FRIEDEFELD, which grew from a home-grown short into a full-fledged 250 minute show and ARD’s first adult animated sitcom. As creators and showrunners, we guided the project from its first idea to release, reaching a seven-figure audience and receiving broad national media coverage and nominations from the German Television Academy DAfNE (Best Animation) and the Venice TV Awards (Best Comedy).

We are drawn to stories that use genre, humor and distinctive visual worlds to engage with contemporary life – combining entertainment value with artistic depth and cultural relevance. With hands-on experience in breaking new ground and a focus on innovation, Wax Studios develops bold storytelling for international audiences.
